Kid Approved Recipes

Simply Made Eats by Tara

I've almost survived the first full week of school. Have you ever seen the reels of the moms crying about not wanting to go to school even though we don't have to actually go? That's me ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ

Overall, super successful week though. I sent my oldest to high school and she's liking it and she made the GOLF TEAM, which was a big goal of ours this summer. Yay!!! She seriously worked so hard for it.

Oh, and here I am packing lunches again for my youngest (10) and I thought I'd share some fun ones, along with some breakfast and snack ideas.

Kid Approved Lunch Box Ideas

This is always a struggle, even at my house, and I'm a food blogger for my job, so don't feel bad!

๐ŸŽ’DIY Pizza Lunchables (picture above) These take minutes to make and are my 10 year old's absolute favorite. She asked for them 3 days this week. Plus, they're healthier than the store bought version.

๐ŸŽ’ Ham and Cheese Wraps: These can be made hot or cold and are a great main course for the lunch box. Pair them with veggies, fruit, and pretzels or goldfish.

๐ŸŽ’ High Protein Pasta Salad: I prep this ahead for my older daughter on Sunday and I'll eat it for lunches for the first few days of the week too. If you have picky kids, you can take out when they don't like.

Quick Breakfast Ideas

These High Protein Pancake Bites are NEW to the blog this week and were popular on social media. They're made with Kodiak Power Cakes Flapjack mix and are super easy to prep in 5 minutes, then bake them for 8-10. *Make sure to really grease the mini muffin tins or you might hate me forever.

For more quick breakfast ideas, try this Mango Pineapple Smoothie or Blackstone Breakfast Burritos.

After School Snack Ideas

We're huge fans of nachos after school and these Veggie Nachos are so yummy!

โ€‹Turkey and Cheese Roll Ups are great to prep for snacks or for lunches!

Make these Almond Butter Protein Balls for a high protein bite sized snack.

If you're a sport's parent I shared a video this week on social media showing the basket I pack for the car when I run kid's from school to sports. It was a big hit this week and I've already had to restock.

That's it for this week! I'm working on a 30 day, 30 minute dinner series in September, and I'm super excited to share it with you.

Thanks for reading and Happy Cooking!

One Pot Dinners Ready in 30ish Minutes Simply Made Eats by Tara I think all of us love a 30 minute one pot dinner.. Less mess and ready quick! Plus, it's really easy to build flavor if you do it right. I'm a burnt out mom on the second week of school and these recipes have been my go to ideas lately. I say 30ish minutes, because I'm not going to lie, I'm a really quick chopper and I don't mess around in the kitchen. If you're like my husband, it may take about 40 minutes. He's an amazing...

Easy Weeknight Dinners with Quick Prep Simply Made Eats by Tara I don't know how this happened, but my kids are going back to school Monday!! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ My oldest goes off to high school, which is crazy. Snack Wraps are Back & Easy Summer Sides Simply Made Eats by Tara The McDonald's Snack Wrap is back and the whole internet is talking about it. It's seriously so simple, but also really delicious, and you know I've made a copycat version, and it's even better! You probably remember these on the menu about a decade ago. There's a regular one and a spicy version. I've went with the traditional snack wrap that features crispy chicken, ranch dressing, lettuce, and cheese wrapped up into a...
