Memorial Day Weekend Menu

Let's make sure we're eating good!

Simply Made Eats by Tara

Summer is right around the corner, and I always feel like Memorial Day kicks off bbq season.

I love bbq meats, but I'm more of a side dish girl. However, I've got lots to share today.

To the Recipes...

Main Courses

Now I know some of you aren't comfortable grilling, so I added these BBQ Chicken Drumsticks to the blog this week. I'm being serious when I say that these tasted like they came off the smoker, and they WERE MADE IN THE OVEN!

Tender chicken with crispy skin covered in sticky bbq sauce..JUST YUM

If you're Grilling or using the Smoker, here are a few of my favorites:

โ€‹Boneless Smoked Chicken Thighsโ€‹

โ€‹Smash Burgers *my personal favorite

Public Service Announcement for Burgers: I don't care what kind you make, they need seasoning. Don't just put meat on the grill. I do a simple blend of salt and pepper and apply a lot of it, then I add a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce to each burger. It's simple, but lifechanging.

โ€‹Baby Back Ribs *ok maybe these are my favorite, haha ๐Ÿ˜€

Let's Talk Side Dishes:

You can't go wrong with any of these choices:

โ€‹Hawaiian Macaroni Salad: 20 minutes of prep with minimal ingredients

โ€‹Baked Beans with Ground Beef: Next level side dish

โ€‹Potato Salad that's a big dill (dad joke): A family favorite

โ€‹Coleslaw that takes 5 minutes and uses the store-bought bag, but with a homemade dressing

Easy Desserts:

This Icebox Cake with Oreos and Strawberries is brand new to the blog and it's so easy to make. Just don't be an idiot like I was and put it into the freezer instead of the fridge overnight..it was a brick!

This recipe gets made a day ahead so make sure to plan for that. Only 5 ingredients needed..oh yea!

More Summer favorites include these 4 ingredient Smores bites and these individual Banana Pudding Cups!

That's it for this week..feel free to reply if you're looking for a specific recipe! I'm here to help.

Thank you to all of those who fought for our country and those who are still fighting for it (& their families). Remember what we are celebrating this weekend.

Happy Cooking!

4 Ingredient Ice Cream Without an Ice Cream Machine Simply Made Eats by Tara My husband once gave me an ice cream maker bowl that went with my stand mixer. I used it like 2 times and it took up my whole freezer (it had to be frozen before using it). Plus, some of the recipes had raw eggs, which kind of freaked me out. I knew there had to be an easier way and I'm here to share it.. It's only 4 ingredients plus mix-ins like chocolate chips, Oreos, etc. and you don't need a machine. I use my...

Mother's Day Approved Recipes From Morning til Night Simply Made Eats by Tara Mother's Day is here, and it's during the craziest month for Moms (sports, school testing, graduations, parties). Since I'm talking to a lot of moms here, it's our day and we can do what we want. I struggled so bad with this when my kids were little. I was always entertaining at my house for the grandma's and cooking and cleaning all day, but this year I'm not hosting ๐Ÿ˜„ My kids are older and I have less mom guilt...
