What Day Is It?

& Recipes for the New Year

Simply Made Eats by Tara

I saw a meme yesterday saying it was Monesday December the 37th and I can't agree more.

Food Bloggers spend the months of October, November and December just cranking out recipes for the holidays and then when it was finally over, I decided to scrape the popcorn off my bedroom ceilings and rip out all the carpet. ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

It's chaos and our bed is now in the middle of the living room. I finally got in the shower last night at 8 pm, and I come downstairs to a huge pee stain in the center of my down comforter that soaked through the mattress pad. Penny our puppy decided to leave me a gift..OMG someone send HELP!

Back at construction this morning, and thankfully my dad is headed over to save the day. He worked blue collar jobs his whole life and you can always count on him to fix anything. ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡

I had to send over some New Year's Eve recipes, so let's get to it. I like making something lucky for the New Year, and here are a few favorites.

New Year's Recipes

Black Eyed Peas are considered lucky in the South and will bring money in the New Year! This Cowboy Caviar Recipe features them and is delicious..plus, no cooking required. It's great as an appetizer with tortilla chips or as a side dish.

Pork: Pigs move their snout forward, which represents moving forward for the New Year. I have so many pork recipes, but some of my favorites are these Pulled Pork Egg Rolls, Dutch Oven Pork Chops, and Boneless Pork Ribs.

Greens: Symbolize Paper Money and who doesn't want a little extra cash?! Whip up these Spinach Ricotta Cheese Triangles, Winter Kale and Pomegranate Salad, or Sausage Kale and White Bean Soup (pork and greens ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ)

That's it for this week! Be back in your inbox next week with some healthy recipes (that are still packed with flavor).

Thanks for reading and Happy NEW Year!!

Super Bowl Recipes ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆ Simply Made Eats by Tara When it comes to the Super Bowl, my goal is for the food to be better than the game, no matter how exciting it is! Ground Beef Recipes Easy and Affordable Meals Simply Made Eats by Tara Last week, my husband drove 5 hours away to get a half a cow we ordered months ago and stocked up our deep freezer. I have loads of ground beef, which has inspired this post. Plus, let's face it..groceries are ridiculously expensive and ground beef is still kind of affordable. There are so many ways to prepare it, and it's high in protein and a favorite at our house. You will find that most of my recipes call for a ground...

30 Minute Dinners To Try this Week! Simply Made Eats by Tara I feel like Winter is when I have the most time at home, yet I still don't want to cook. Maybe I'm supposed to be hibernating like a bear. ๐Ÿป Anyways, my family still expects dinner (so annoying ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚), so I'm all about 30 minute or less dinners. This week I have some favorites to share, so let's get to it. To the Recipes... 30 Minute Dinners New to the blog this week is this Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry. I always use rice for a stir fry...
